Tye Morris Photo
Mission and Statement of Values
At Tye Morris Photo we believe that art can change the world, both for the better and for the worse, and it is our privilege and responsibility to create art which has a positive impact and leaves a positive legacy for both our company and our customers. Our mission is to add to the beauty, knowledge, education and enjoyment of our fellow beings by providing high quality digital and print works of photographic art at a reasonable price.
We believe and declare that art of all kinds has significant, important, and world-changing intrinsic worth and value, and we firmly believe in the positive effect we can have on the world through our work. Pursuant to this, Tye Morris Photo adopts this Mission and Statement of values to be our guiding star through all our endeavors, both in art and in business.
We love and value our fellow beings, we cherish diversity and inclusion; we take great pride and find value in the differences which make up the tapestry of the human experience.
We firmly and steadfastly believe that all people are in possession of intrinsic worth and value by virtue of their humanity, and each person has a unique story to tell; we believe their stories deserve to be told honestly and fairly, even if we're not the ones who will ultimately tell their story.
We believe and firmly stand by the principles of ethical photojournalism and ethical documentary work. We commit to adding no elements to any work representing itself as a piece of documentary or journalistic work that was not present in that work to begin with, nor shall we fundamentally alter any such photograph in a way which will misrepresent the person, places, events, or things as they fundamentally were when we photographed them. While we may take artistic license with our more artistic non-documentary photography, we commit to creating art free from exploitation and will always be mindful of our subjects and the impact our work may have on them. We're telling their story, not ours.
We reject cruelty and hate of any kind and we welcome all customers of all backgrounds, beliefs, creeds, nationalities, orientations/preference, and make no distinction for citizenship or social status.
We try our best to live by the principle of Ahimsa, to never intentionally do violence or harm to living beings; we actively endeavor to cease doing harm through thoughts, words, actions, or deeds.
We pride ourselves on our integrity; we will fulfill every commitment we make to the best of our abilities, including our commitment to this Statement of Values, and we will never knowingly misrepresent ourselves in any way.
We will always clearly disclose our prices, fees, and policies, and will gladly explain why we choose to charge what we charge.
We believe in being of service to our fellow Humans, that compassion for all beings is the highest aspirational virtue.
At Tye Morris Photo, we know from direct experience that perfecting a craft or an art takes years, decades, or a lifetime of dedicated pursuit, education, learning, and practice. We firmly believe creators should receive fair compensation for their years of dedication, development, practice, and education. Our prices will always reflect a value which strikes a balance between fair value for our customers and fair compensation for our representatives. We will always fairly compensate the creators we work or subcontract with as best we can within the limitations of a specific contract. We will also refrain form overcharging another creator or artist for their work or services. We also will fairly compensate our in-house artists according to their level of ability and experience and our prices will always reflect this value.
We believe that all people should be free from harassment and violence of any kind, be it political, sexual, physical, or verbal, and we would consider any such harassment to be an affront to our values.
We also understand the behavior, comportment, values, words, and actions of the organizations and persons with which we choose to associate can have real-world consequences for both us and our customers. As such, we respectfully reject association with any person, persons, or organizations which we find in active conflict with this Statement of Values, even if it means we lose money.
We so strongly believe in the values and principles outlined herein that we actively, specifically, and explicitly reserve the right to respectfully decline offering service(s), donated service(s), trade work, and/or products to any people or organization(s), nonprofit or otherwise, who's mission, values, associations, standards, comportment, or affiliations do not align with or are in active conflict with this Mission and Statement of Values.
